Position Summary

You will perform real world, firsthand, accounting tasks and play a key role within Clark Schaefer Hackett’s Tax Services. You will support and assist tax professionals in ensuring excellent client service, compliance, and effective governance within a variety of industries while being trained on the industry’s leading accounting software.

You must be a current undergraduate who is ambitious about Public Accounting and service excellence with a future career goal of working in the accounting industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary, and additional tax returns for a variety of both business entities and individuals
  • Become familiar with pertinent Internal Revenue Code sections and regulations
  • Data processing, as assigned by other members of the Firm
  • Develop and uphold working relations with associates and clients while demonstrating your professionalism working in a business atmosphere
  • Work independently and utilize technology to successfully complete tax returns
  • Contribute ideas to define new processes and procedures
  • Participate in firm networking events
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Accounting or related degrees 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Ability to learn new concepts and technology quickly
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of computers and various Microsoft programs

Preferred:

  • Previous accounting internship or related experience
  • Pursuing CPA 150-credit hour requirement

  • Passion for Accounting with the ability and willingness to understand how technology works
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Good analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills to detect problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
  • Must be eager to learn, initiative-taking, flexible, accountable and can effectively handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
  • A passion for excellent client service
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Adaptable and flexible in the face of changing client needs or new information
  • Self-driven in a remote working environment
